Thanks + Giving = Joy, happiness, satisfaction etc.

Thanksgiving is just two days away. Can you believe it! That was super fast! Anyways, I spent my day helping my mom prepare some food for the “Thankful Day.” I chopped celery, cut potatoes, and spent a little time crying due to cutting onions :D! We took out our ham and hen (no turkey this year :P)  to thaw , and then we will start the cooking tomorrow. I don’t know about you, but I’m really excited about Thanksgiving. It’s such a special time to embrace and love everyone around you and to thank God for absolutely everything good and sometimes even the rough times you have had in your life. Although Thanksgiving is our country’s time to be thankful, I personally think that every chance we get we should thank God and give to those in need.

As all of you know, after Thanksgiving  comes the huge holiday…Christmas! I absolutely love Christmas! This year, instead of me and my family receiving and asking for things, we have decided to give back. We are going to donate money and items, not only to our country, but also to Asia and Africa and anyone else in need.

Giving to other makes me feel great:)! Like I have accomplished something. Making others happy gives me joy to see the smiles on their faces. Their isn’t one word that describes how giving exactly makes me feel. I can only try to describe it. If you can, please give to someone this Christmas. Give anything, even if it is just a simple hug, smile, something handmade by your or your child… give a simple meal to a hungry person ,or a sweater to a homeless person. Whether they seem happy about what you just gave them or not, just rejoice, because  you just showed someone Christ through you and that you and God cares about them.

So, are you up for the fun challenge??? Good! You will be so much happier through these sometimes rough holidays :).

God Bless & Happy Thanksgiving

Water For Life: Cries For Help

August is quickly approaching (can you believe it!) and then it’s back to school, or in my case, back to homeschooling. I plan on accomplishing many things in and outside of school. Things like college courses, photography, volunteering and fundraising. The point of me writing this post is to ask you to do something that can

Water For Life

change a thousand or maybe even a million lives in several countries.

The other day my mom and I were watching a christian television show called Life Today. They showed an African woman and her three children. They lived in Africa and she was so skinny and her kids were all bone. She was asking the show to help her and her community because they are all suffering and in need of clean water. She shared her life story and explained that three of her kids have died because of this problem. The water that they drink is basically mud…I couldn’t believe my eyes. All of these people were dying because of something so simple. I’m here in America complaining about it being hot outside. They’re in Africa praying for something more than a cool day. Watching this and comparing my life to it was heart breaking. I got teary eyed (and still am) because of it. So instead of just thinking about it, WE should all do something about it.

The show asked for a donation of $24 which will provide clean water for five people, $48 will provide water for ten, $96 will provide water for twenty, $144 will provide water for thirty, $1,200 can be combined with 3 other friends to help drill a complete new well, $2,400 can be combined with one other friend of LIFE to provide a complete new well, $4,800 will enable them to drill and install a complete new water well that will provide clean, disease-free water for many, many years to come.

When my Mom saw this she instantly came up with an idea. Why not organize a fundraiser and try to get the whole $4,800? So this is what we are going to do. We are going to organize a bake sale and try to get people all across Tennessee to do the same. They can set up at a store, organization, home, or anywhere else that will allow people to do this. But I thought that we should try aiming a little bit higher, because I would want people to aim higher for me, too, if I were going without water.

So, I thought that maybe you can copy and paste this post on your own site or blog, and also have a fundraiser of your own, in your state, country, city etc. so that we can all build more than just one well…we can build many! All they need is Water For Life! I know this is a long shot, but with God all things are possible Matthew (19:26). Please don’t hesitate to do this. The world needs your help.
